- 01How do I become a Riide driver?The first step to becoming a Riide driver is to complete a driver application with Riide. Our team will review your application and help guide you through the licensing, documentation, training and vehicle requirements needed to begin driving.Ready to get started? - 02Riide drivers must meet Riide's requirements as well as all applicable City of Saskatoon and Saskatchewan licensing requirements.Depending on your circumstances, requirements may include:An appropriate Saskatchewan driver's licenceRequired driving experienceDriver abstractCriminal record and/or vulnerable sector checksCity of Saskatoon taxi driver licensing requirementsRequired trainingEligibility to work in CanadaAny additional documentation required by Riide or applicable regulatorsOur Fleet team can explain the current requirements and help you understand what you'll need before getting started.
- 03Drivers providing taxi service in Saskatoon may require the appropriate Saskatchewan driver's license for the type of passenger transportation they provide.If you're unsure whether your current license qualifies, contact our Fleet team before applying. We can explain the current licensing requirements and what steps may be required to become eligible.
- 04Previous taxi-driving experience is not necessarily required to apply with Riide. New drivers can receive guidance and training to help them understand Riide's systems, customer-service expectations and applicable operating requirements.Experience in transportation, delivery or customer service can be helpful, but we encourage qualified applicants from a variety of backgrounds to apply.
- 05Driver applicants must meet the applicable screening and background-check requirements before providing passenger transportation with Riide.Our Fleet team will explain which checks and documentation are currently required as part of the application and licensing process.
- 06The time required to become a Riide driver depends on how quickly the necessary licensing, screening, documentation and training requirements are completed.Applicants who already have some of the required licenses or documents may be able to complete the process more quickly.Our Fleet team will help identify what you already have and what remains outstanding.
- 07Contact Riide's Fleet team to discuss the vehicle options currently available to new drivers. Depending on the operating arrangement, there may be different ways to get started.This is a good question to discuss early in the application process so we can help identify the most appropriate option for you.
- 08Vehicles operating with Riide must meet applicable safety, licensing, age, condition and vehicle-class requirements.Before purchasing or preparing a vehicle specifically for taxi use, contact Riide to confirm that it meets the current requirements.
- 09Yes. Riide provides training and onboarding to help new drivers get started.Training can include information about Riide's dispatch and technology systems, customer-service expectations, operating procedures, safety requirements and other information needed to work successfully with Riide.
- 10Yes. New drivers receive information and training on the systems and technology used to receive and manage Riide trips.Understanding the dispatch system is an important part of getting started and helps drivers efficiently receive, manage and complete customer bookings.
